low lights are darker than your natural hair color, highlights are lighter than your natural color. I think depending what "look" your going for, low lights like a dark auburn or red, not fire engine or anything, just something subtle! Good luck

Just one or two blonde foils around the face setts an emo style just right. and if you only do one or two it doesn't matter if you look good in blonde or not. Plus its like a blank pallet if you want to Manic Panick it later.
